Cat of Bubastes #4

Chapter Four, Part B

They have taken the tour of the animals, so now they go to the garden. Amuba and Jethro are dumbstruck at all those plants. But then, the Cat of Bubastes author does a little bit of explaining about Ameres. They say that he is very, very wise, but he thinks that all the gods of Egypt are only images of a great God, who is so great that his name is great, it is unknown (kind of like Jehovah). Ameres was one of only a few men and one woman who were permitted into the secret knowledge of Egypt.

Some of the other priests hate him, because he is so wise and knowing. He is very good at the actual rituals of the gods, but he doesn't pay much attention to or have much reverence for the gods of Egypt. Those other priests were pretty religious in the ways they knew, and very sure that Egypt was the greatest nation of all because of their gods.

  1. HI Gillian, Egypt was a very great nation and I would love to visit it in a time of peace. There is a revolution going on there right now, so now is not a good time to visit. Many treasures have been discovered in old tombs in Egypt, it was a very wealthy country. Now many people are poor and can't get enough to eat. You should look up where Egypt is on a world map, and also Lybia, Tunisia, Iraq, Jordan and Yemen. There is trouble brewing in those countries also. Mum can tell you about it. I hope peace comes quickly, and people become free to say what they think, and to vote for their government, and especially have enough to eat and clean water to drink. We are lucky to be living in the United States.
Thank you for sharing your stories with us, I love you, Granny
